I decided after shopping a while that I probably actually needed 2-3 pairs of shoes to fit those needs and the shoe I wanted didn't exist. But, then, I found this boot and it's perfect. It's a nice-looking boot (the pictures don't do it justice). It fits like a glove and is very comfortable right out of the box. I have a narrow foot and high arches. The laces allowed me to tighten the boot to fit without cramping my foot because the leather is soft and pliable. I could probably use a bit more arch support, but it's good enough for me. I would not wear them hiking as the grooves on the sole are not deep enough to give a good grip and they are not sturdy enough to give my foot support. I went up a half size just so I had a little more room when I hike and wear thicker socks.. I have all of the Bozeman mid leather boots and highly recommended them to anyone. The only thing I knocked a star off for is the waterproof factor.
