Having searched retail outlets for extra large luxury large bean bags, we knew the costs would've been $2K(google phur sac), so we were willing to spend a little extra to make this version an equivalent. Depending on what you choose through amazon, the current cost is $35-70. We spent $70 and used Xtreme Comforts shredded memory foam($35), which is probably enough for most people on it's own as it's super compact and expands significantly. But having 3 animals competing for space that we knew would press down the foam, we also added Big Joe Bean Bag Refill. We bought a 2 pack but could only physically fit one in the bean bag ($20). Only do this if you want yours to be super overstuffed, otherwise skip it.A year and a half and several washes later, it still looks gorgeous and new (shiny/white). It did shed at first. Wash the cover first if you're concerned about this. It's faux fur so that will happen. We always get complements on it and people can't resist cuddling with the animals on it (we do too).
