I can't trust a magnet to protect my expensive jointers, planers, and saws from buried nails and metal fragments. I picked up the lumber Wizard 5 and put it to the test on a pile of reclaimed wood. It did a fantastic job finding every exposed and buried nail fragment. The sound is the first indication but having the laser light showing exactly where to pinpoint the fragments that I couldn't see with my eyes was invaluable.
