    Hysterical parody of 70s comics

Afrodisiac is a the world's greatest pimp with an origin that changes every issue.  He tangles with an alien princess, Hercules, Tricky Dick Nixon and even Death and triumphs over them all. He's the greatest character you never heard of.Jim Rugg perfectly recreates the looks and feel of old comics with ben-day dots, yellowing paper even scenes from the cartoon and the movie.  The jokes are both subtle and obvious, the stories are short and good, and it's just a lot of fun.I've read a lot of comic parodies, most of them are mean-spirited and fall flat.  This one is from a writer and an artist who genuinely love their subject and have a lot of fun with their humor.I recommend this to anyone who loves comics.

This book was a lot of fun and really captured the zeitgeist of old comics and blacksploitation. It read a little choppy which made me wonder if parts were missing or if it was supposed to have the feel of a larger work
