The turn-knob that is used to attach the camera to the mounting plate would be hard to get enough force to hold such a heavy load. I use the claw mount for mostly Sony FDR-3000X actions cam and DJI Osmo Action cam and a Panasonic 4K Prosumer camcorder. **Q: Are you able to get the top piece (part that mounts to camera) separate? I have 2 cameras but only need one locking base** A: Yes you can buy just the top piece - the camera plate - but it is $18.95, so why not spend the extra $2.00 and get the whole package? I have 5 units and attach the bottom piece to my several tripods, unipods, Joby Gorilla Pods and the Ram mounts (which I use the majority of the time). **Q: Is this the gen I or gen ii?** A: This is the Gen I.
