**Q: Does the handle function as a latch to keep the drawer shut?**
A: No, it does not.  You must lock the drawer to keep it shut during transport.

**Q: Can the drawer be opened and close while not in a rack unit? Is there space allowance beneath it? I am planning to use it without a rack unit.**
A: Mine is in a rack, though the other responses think so. The drawer slides in and out of a shell covering. Something will have to anchor the shell to keep it stationary for the drawer to operate properly. There are no feet on its bottom to create space.

**Q: Can you give me the interior dimensions of the drawer?**
A: 16 inches wide, 13 deep, 5 tall.

**Q: How do I punch out the holes in the back?**
A: Im lookimg at drilling the holes out. Big disappointment from pictures.
