After taking it apart, hammering to flatten and fiddling about with it, I'm please to report, I now have coffee with much less sediment in it. The coffee is definitely hotter out of this pot than my previous glass pots, but how long it stays like this for, I cannot say, because it never lasts long enough for me to find out!! Although the handle and outside wall does get warm, it never gets too hot to handle. Pours well, and the lid can also be rotated to keep the heat from escaping. Love the fact that it's dishwasher safe and it comes out looking like new, and if it's important to you, it will also look good on any breakfast or dinner table. It was very easy to take apart to clean, kept our coffee hot the coffee pot has a very elegant shape and looks more expensive than it was, is leakproof and very sturdy.
