The "velour" is really soft and the satin ribbon gives you the feeling you're using a classy product. I was actually skeptical because they were so cheap but I like them! It's a bit stiff, but I think you would soften it up with use. Also, take note that they probably won;t fit in your compact. I bought a Laura Mercier puff from Sephora which was quite pricey, and that one is a decent amount nicer because it's almost like fur, not fabric, but for the price differential I kind of regret it. What I do like better than these are kabuki style brushes.
