One, to put in the bottom of my larger pots and planters for better water drainage. Two, to put in trays under pot/plants the like more humidity. I put the rocks in the tray then put the pot on top. I add water almost to the bottom of the pot. I ended up having to make several orders for a total of 13 bags, in order to cover an area of about 5 1/2‘ x 3 1/2‘. Most of the rocks were in good condition, however some are larger than 2 inches, and I definitely received a number of broken rocks due to the fact there is no protective packaging, they come in a large plastic bag inside of a thin cardboard box. I was happy however that I didn’t receive a number of discolored rocks, they all stayed pretty much a grayish black. I have them surrounding my Buddha Belly Bamboo tree.Had to order them in stages (20 pounds at a time) as I cannot lift a heavy box. Once I opened the box, I carried out 1/2 of them at a time into the garden. Note: These are rocks, not jewelry. They are not highly polished. Just nice black river rocks as pictured. WARNING: After 3 orders of this rock, I was informed that there was a quantity limit on this item so I could not re-order more. Therefore, if you can lift more than 20 pounds at a time and need a lot, would be a good idea to order a larger bag to start.THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN WARNED UP FRONT.
