This handmade hippopotamus planter and special insert makes a self watering pot perfect for miniature African violets, starter plants, and other small houseplants. The outer pot is glazed outside and inside to hold water. The insert is glazed only on the rim so that the raw bisque can absorb water as needed. Overall this measures 4 inches tall. The insert itself is 3 inches tall and 3.75 inches across the top. The planting area is 1.75 x 2 inches.

    Cute 2" Ceramic Self-watering Pot

Very cute, arrived early in good condition. This is the only 2" ceramic self-watering pot I could find for a tiny African violet I acquired. The hippo's nose is part of the reservoir too, so it holds about twice as much water as I had assumed it would. Hippos are not normally my style, but it is very cute. Would definitely buy it again.
