It feels greasy but nowhere like Vaseline. And it has tremendous hold and helps keep my scalp from drying out. It's a one of a kind formula that requires Dawn to help emulsify it. It has an old smell of 50's pomade and I can see why someone would buy for the nostalgia. But, I've used baby oil, carrot oils, Argan oil with and without silicone, vegetable oils, and nothing comes close. I used to enjoy Paul Mitchell Wax Works, but even that will dissipate in a little rain shower. This stays put and does the job with just a little greasy feel.
