Ce dictionnaire de l'environnement et de la protection de l'environnement est un ouvrage vraiment utile. C'est à la fois un dictionnaire, au sens où il offre des notices très simples et brèves, mais parfois amplement suffisantes, et qu'il permet de comprendre certaines abréviations : DEFRA, MAFF, FEMA, propres au monde anglo-saxon. Mais c'est aussi une petite encyclopédie, avec des articles plus longs et détaillés, rédigés sur toute la page et non sur deux colonnes. Ainsi, "biodiversity" ou "drought" ont droit à des définitions plus amples, plus complexes. "Global Warming" couvre presque toute une page.A l'heure d'internet et des encyclopédies collaboratives en ligne, cet ouvrage reste d'un usage simple, rapide, direct. Et on garde tous les avantages d'un ouvrage papier : la possibilité de flâner, de chercher, de découvrir d'autres notions. En fait, c'est même un dictionnaire de géographie physique.
