All of these have to be timed. Use the bolt hole in the crank pulley to hold the crank pulley in time. Use the tools provided to time the rest. This is important because your crank position sensor sprocket is mounted to your crank pulley. If the pulley is not put on in the correct time the ECU will not be able to accurately detect where the crank is at in its stroke. USE A CRANK PULLEY HOLDER TO TORQUE THE CRANK PULLEY BOLT - DO NOT USE THE CRANK TIMING BOLT. -I speak only from experience and not from high stop some expert mechanics pedestal. I use on 3.8l. 2.0 is different so you should use a locking or holding tool instead of the alignment set. **Q: Does this work on a 2011 Mazda 3 S 2.5?** A: We are afraid not. It doesn't work on a 2011 Mazda 3 S 2.5. **Q: Which pin is for the 2.0 and which one is for the 2.3/2.5 engines** A: I used the longer bolt on my 2.3L. I also rigged up a dial indicator to check for TDC. Found bolt held crank off couple of degrees. Relied on dial indicator.
