It's thick and heavy and I have tried numerous hair accessories in either hair decor or simply putting it up for hot days and these are the best thing I have tried. They are durable and being clear, they go with anything. They hold my hair in place all day without having to keep re-postitioning them. I have to admit that I thought I was buying the tiny clips that I needed for the new growth short hairs and I didn't read the size noted but when these larger clips came and I tried them on the bulk of my hair twisted in a bun and they held my hair better than anything I had ever tried in the past, I was so grateful for my mistake.
