It's strong and sturdy and easily holds a number of skis and snow shoes for me.I did need to use the alternative mounting instructions they provided as my studs did not align with the pre-built holes in the Rough Rack. This added more time to the installation process but only because of my wall.Be sure to have your drill ready for both the pre-drilling of the screw holes as well as the actual screwing in of the supplied screws (via your own drill bit/attachment) - you will NOT be able to hand tighten these. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars great budget ski/snowboard rack *by M***. on Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2019* perfect for what it needs to do. i heat shrinked the metal bars before use to prevent any scuffing of ski top sheets (as others have mentioned). comes with easy to follow instructions and hardware. i only could get two studs to hit in my apartment but that is more than enough for the 4-5 pairs of skis i have in it. very well made and will last forever. a tiny bit industrial looking, but i feel as though it's meant more for a garage than inside your home. 10/10 will recommend for anyone looking to get their equipment off the ground! ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Steel is real *by K***E on Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2013* If you want a steel plate with 4 sets of steel bars welded to it, that is what you will get.But, I ordered a ski rack, and as a ski rack this leaves much to be desired:1. Your skis will pull apart from each other at the tails unless you have them strapped together. This is a problem with all racks of this design, but could be overcome by hanging the skis at the bindings, but the bars are not spaced wide enough.2. As mentioned before, the bars are welded very closely together, too close << EDIT: I should say, not quite right >> for modern rockers skis. I'm afraid that the bars will deform the shape of my tips over time.3. The rack is made in USA, but it's a lot to pay for what it is. Call me crazy if I don't think that "Made in USA" is an excuse for "really expensive". So yeah, I could have just not bought it if I thought it was overpriced, but as this is my review, I will give my subjective opinion - The rack underwhelming.Some nice aspects of the rack, and why it gets 3 stars:1. The bars are long. Long enough for a ultra-wide snowboard or two sets of wide skis.2. Build quality is what I would expect. Even paint coat and welded straight.3. Rack is clearly very strong. Especially when using 3 lag bolts into studs. It can hold a lot of weight.Bottom line- You should know that you are buying a metal plate with 3 holes drilled in it, and 4 sets of bars welded to it. That's it. I know... what was I expecting??Edited for clarity and added further details after using rack for a few weeks.
