Review: Works Great with my QT non pressurized flow center - Works Great with my QT non pressurized flow center. I used PVC also ( ToolmanJohn's design with a few changes ) but took a coupling and added to the end of the 90 where it would be pushed onto the QT return pipe. Chucked up the coupling in the lathe and flared it a bit to make it easier to find the QT return pipe. It reads the same as a borrowed unit that was over $400. This is a valuable tool to adjust the flow to the proper rate.

**Q: Where are the FKM seals in this flow meter?**
A: There are PVC ends that attach to the acrylic body and the your piping would attach to the PVC ends. The seals are where the PVC ends meet the body of the rotameter.

**Q: What is the working psi rating for this device at 70f?**
A: Maximum pressure is 85 psi

**Q: What is the minimum length of lead in pipe required to maintain a flow profile at the specified worst case accuracy?**
A: It is good practice to approach the flowmeter inlet with as few elbows and restrictions as possible. The inlet piping should be as large as the connection to the flow meter. Length of inlet piping makes little difference for normal pressure fed flowmeters. Discharge piping should also be as large as the flowmeter connection and should not have an elbow or restriction immediately after the rotameter. For water flowmeters, water is generally incompressible and moderate back pressure will not affect the accuracy of the rotameter as calibrated.

**Q: is this suitable to be used to meter liquid fertilizers?**
A: Most likely no. These are calibrated to the specific gravity of water, (1.0) whereas the specific gravity of fertilizer would probably be around 1.5-1.8?  It would depend on the makeup of the fertilizer. We are a manufacturer, so if you knew the specific gravity of the fertilizer we could custom make rotameters and calibrate it to your specific gravity.

Works Great with my QT non pressurized flow center. I used PVC also ( ToolmanJohn's design with a few changes ) but took a coupling and added to the end of the 90 where it would be pushed onto the QT return pipe. Chucked up the coupling in the lathe and flared it a bit to make it easier to find the QT return pipe. It reads the same as a borrowed unit that was over $400. This is a valuable tool to adjust the flow to the proper rate.

I bought this item to use in a geothermal heating system to measure the gpm. The description did not state that this item will only work in a horizontal set up. I wish the description would have been more clear. Cost me $10 in shipping to return. Looks like a good product if you need a horizontal set up.
