The material these are made from are much thicker then the VAST majority of other vinyl siding on the market. It is so thick that the usual methods of cutting ( a metal cutting or grinding wheel) doesn't work as well. As a result of the thickness, squeezing pieces into tight spots is extra difficult. (frustratingly difficult) But we worked it and got them installed correctly and the look is so fricking good I almost can't believe it! We went with the charcoal gray in an area that had a LOT of windows, water outlets, electric outlets and installation was very difficult. Between the tight spots and the thickness of the material this can be a difficult product to work with. Most vinyl siding is so thin and flimsy and frankly cheap that it is easy to just bend and flex into position. Not this stuff, just be prepared to work with it. Each piece has multiple lock points to hold them in place, this also is a good thing as it really makes the finished product look amazing. But it is a pain because it is tough to get them into position and locked correctly. I highly recommend testing the starter strip you plan on using before putting it up. The starter strip we chose was INCREDIBLY hard to latch the shingles onto. Those shingles aren't going anywhere! Geesh! I also HIGHLY recommend this product, as the old adage goes, "you get what you pay for" and it is doubly true with this product.
