Regular glue sticks melt at MUCH lower temperatures and when you feel them, have a bit of rubbery "give" to them. This stuff is really stiff, more like a hard plastic once it's cooled. You need a torch to melt it, and obviously the shape of it doesn't lend itself to being used in a glue gun, so I can't tell you if that would be hot enough, but I'd guess not. **Q: Does this hot melt work on carbon arrows or is the blue Bohning hot melt better for carbon shafts?** A: The blue is better for carbon.
