Try using a pre-filled pod and see where it actually punches the hole. **Q: Does this work with k500** A: As far as I can tell, yes. To be sure, ask the seller... **Q: Can you use this just in a cup of hot water to steep?** A: Are you asking about the baskets or the scoop? The scoop has a big hole in the top to pour the coffee grounds into the basket, so it would not be suitable for steeping.
