They are only made of foam with some plastic tubes to hold them together. Super awesome for being stuck inside. Get the kids off their computer and have fun walking with them on this. They can be combined with more than 1 kit and formed into a great labyrinth. You can change the lay out and kids have fun making their own shapes. A bit over priced but I have not found anything like it.
