A: Hello! Sorry about the confusion and thank you for bringing this to our attention. The Static V2 has a thickness of 2.5 inches.

**Q: How do you close the cap over the valve?  It will connect or close**
A: Hello! Thank you for reaching out! Once inflated, you apply a little pressure with your thumbs and the cap snaps on over the valve to close. It's also connected to the base of the valve itself so it doesn't completely remove or get lost. Hope this helps! Happy camping!

It does the job per price value.. I use it moto camping its ultralight and comfy, yet you would need a small air pump if ur not blowing in the air yourself and definitely a insulted folding mat under.
