I got two of these, each one set up for two kitties. I let my husband do the programming. I feed each cat 1/4 cup in the AM and a 1/4 cup in the PM. A quarter cup equaled 6 portions, so he had to play with it for quite a while to get that portioning figured out. After a couple of days, I kept finding the bowls in other places in the room, so to fix that, I ended up using lumps of Gorilla glue removable putty under the bowl holder, and under the bowl, as well as under the actual feeder to keep everything in place. Since I did that, nothing has budged. You can record your voice calling the cats to dinner and it will play a few second prior to feeding, but 2 of my kitties are formerly feral and both thought that it was horrifying-so they ran the other way. I ended up just turning off the recording. I evenly distribute a 10lb bag of food and with each cat getting a 1/4 cup, it lasts about 9-10 days. I’ve been using this exclusively since early November and the cats weights have stayed even and the timing has stayed precise. There is a built in battery for the clock so that even when we lost power, once it came back on, the feeders were still on schedule (HOWEVER IT WON’T FEED YOUR CATS IF YOU LOSE POWER). A bit of A trick to sync up the two feeders, and even then, they are about 30 seconds apart. Once the food dispenses, it sounds like someone hit the jackpot on a slot machine-so that’s fun. Overall, for my four cats, this was a great purchase and the portioning is so precise, I feel it saves money by not allowing waste. My cats are 8 years old (3 of them) and 7 years old (one), and I’ve had them since they were little. I got this particular feeder because I have two cats and I was in a slight time crunch because I wanted to try this out before I went on vacation for a weekend. I got it programmed relatively easily (helps to have read other reviews prior to setting up because the voice activation thing would have confused me.) The feeder was going for a few days as expected before vacation, but just to be sure my cats wouldn't starve I also put some extra food out.I can happily say that the feeder is still going consistently for over a month now. This is all I needed it to do and it's doing it well. My only issue is that I may end up getting a second one at some point as my cats are fairly territorial and prefer to eat separately. I believe I can take the separator out and have it dispense to only one bowl.My only complaint is that it's not quite heavy enough to push in the buttons one-handed - you have to hold the unit down with your other hand. However, the lid locks and I think it is heavy enough to where my cats won't be able to knock it over and get some extra food (they haven't yet and I don't think they will.)Overall I'm pretty happy! Was great at first but it wasn’t meant to stand the test of time because of all its plastic pieces.This thing is great. It was super easy to set up and adjust after setup. My cats were incessantly waking me up at 6am and I’d wanted to get an auto feeder. I read other reviews for this WellToBe one and saw some people had trouble with it but decided to try it. So glad I did. My cats caught on quickly that I no longer pour the food and when they hear the food being dispensed they go eat. Recording the sound I decided to use a gong sound effect from my phone. It took a little adjusting to get the portions right but I think now we have a good balance of many small feedings which helps with overeating and barfing. I also like that it has the double spout and two bowls which stay in place. My kibble does not have a problem with becoming stuck. My only complaint is the latch to the lid is flimsy and mine slips off the knob that provides its resistance. It’s easy to put back on but it would be nice of the latch was better. So minus one star for that. Other than that I love it and that problem wouldn’t be enough for me to not buy it.
