The only thing that bothered us was the stiffness of the cord and how it would kink when it was twisted and it's not easy to coil when it's twisted. It feels like a heavy duty cable, so I hope that all of the twisting won't affect it very much. I don't understand why this is a consistent problem with kindles. Charging cords on laptop and cell phones don't fall out. This is my 5th kindle, the second time I've purchased a non-Amazon cord but the problem persists. It is absolutely inexcusable. If kindle designers can't remedy, maybe they need to incorporate one of those little tabs you push in on the plug, which when released locks the cord. This one being returned for refund. I ordered the 10 ft length and I cannot tell u what a pleasure it is to lie in bed read and charge at the same time. The original cable that came with my Fire was maybe 18 in so if the Fire needed charging I was basically hunkered in one spot. This give me the option to move around. I also love the material the cord is made of. It looks like stainless steel and goes with any cover you may have for your Kindle.
