First, I noticed the seal under the lid that peels off was eliminated, and the color of the product is more gray. But it’s the feel and results that are the real bummer — it’s not as silky as it was, nor does it leave my skin feeling hydrated. Instead, I have to use more product to get the same coverage and after it dries, it feels tight and a little cakey or powdery. I thought I was buying knock-offs, so I emailed the company and asked. They said they had to eliminate the protective seal because they were leaking and the ingredients of the product has not changed. They said because it’s botanically-sourced, etc., the batches tend to differ. But I explained I had tried ordering jars from different distributors, but they were all the same “new” formula. I said it’s unfortunate but it’s not uncommon for companies to lower their cost by downgrading the product, and that’s what seems to have happened with this light moisturizer. Such a bummer. I’m on the hunt for a new moisturizer.'m a 50-something-year-young caucasian woman with medium to dry skin and I have to say, Astara is the BEST line of skin care products I've used. I've tried many different products at all different price points and have found Astara to give me the best results at the best value... a LITTLE goes a LONG way with every product of theirs, so only use a dab of this and that -- it will last longer and still produce results! This Light Moisturizer is my FAVORITE -- I use it everyday in the morning after washing my face and neck with their gentle Botanical Gele' cleanser. At night after cleansing, I use the Radiance Renewal Intense Moisturizer... very hydrating! When I don't have time to wash my face, I use the AHA Nutrient Toner on cotton pads, then moisturizer. In the shower, after washing I use the Aroma Face and Body Oil... oh, smells devine! After shaving my calves, I massage it in and rinse off to keep my legs moisturized and silky smooth. I use it on my arms and torso, too... it leaves my skin so soft! I also love that the ingredients are natural and organic for the most part... and it's produced in NorCal, near where I live, so I like being close to the source! lol! Although, when I received this particular item from Amazon, it wasn't as fresh as buying directly from Astara or from the Skin Store... in fact, I had to return it due to a yellowish tint present on top, visible after opening and clearly due to that jar being too old. Anyway, ordering directly from those other sources will keep you in fresh supply!
