It should really last longer than this. When it worked I loved it but its a bit pricey to break 10 months later. the light works and the mister makes it sound like its trying to mist. I have it on the counter with some straight up white vinegar to see if its gummed up. This unit is no longer available so I suspect there were issues with it.
