I got this and so much more! This book is really for everyone. I could relate to Carly's story in so many ways. I understood her action of comparing herself to others and finding herself lacking, her desire to fit in and find community, and finding herself feeling isolated from God because of the idols that she had built. Carly explains how God quietly pursued her during her same sex relationship and never left her side even during her darkest moments. Readers will come away feeling hope that God can heal them and remove the idols in their lives too whether that idol is a same sex relationship or something else . This book offers a raw, honest look at a life of sin but also the joy of redemption and every moment in-between. Her story is compelling but how the book is written makes it totally unique. Her struggle is everyone's struggle. She openly shares her personal struggle but ultimately how God calls us, not to die to a particular sin, but to our self.The writing is excellent. The tone and pace of the book is just right. The mix of sound theology and simple teaching is perfect. But what I love the most was how God gave her the ability to replay each step of her challenges with a keen memory. It was like she could clearly remember the internal struggle at each key moment of her past.I could not recommend this book more.
