It's a medium liquid gel - easy to control and apply. I use the "praying hands-and-scrunch" methods. It's not the thick glob type of gel. As per instructions, I applied to soaking wet hair. To refresh the curls, I just spritzed dry hair with a water bottle. The spritzing reactivated the gel and I didn't need to add any extra product in general. Sometimes on Day 2 or 3, I'd need to add a bit of CurlKeeper because of outdoor humidity, rain or snow. The product dries clear; there was no white flaking whatsoever.
