I have since gone to white plastic store shopping bags. I bought a case at BJs and they'll last me for more than a year. I upgraded to the bigger Genie for my two cats and dumping the bag with the trash once a week works out great. **Q: Does it come with bags and a scoop also?** A: yes it does come with the scoop and bag however really read the directions in regards to putting the bags in it seems easy but it wasn't. **Q: The genie keeps opening when it is being moved, even when i use the handle in the back of the genie. how can i make it latch better?** A: I realize that this question is from a few years ago, but I hope that I might be able to help others that read this answer. First of all - I agree that weight of the content can matter. So if you find the genie opening and it is pretty full, then emptying might be your best bet. However, even when it is just half full, also try checking the metal pin that helps hold the lid on didn't somehow slide out just a bit (if you look at the back of the genie when open as if you were taking out a full bag, you'll see what I mean). If it is only partially exposed, you can try cracking the lid (again as if you were removing a full bag) and using a small tool to gently tap the pin back in place.
