After all, dairy is just about the richest source of calcium there is, and whole grains are a big source of dietary magnesium. If I don't get enough calcium and magnesium, I get tired, anxious, unfocused, and I get nasty muscle tension. It's not pleasant. These help me make sure that I get enough each day without having to eat dairy or too many grains. After I mostly eliminated dairy and cut back on grains, I started experiencing more and more muscle tension, fatigue, and anxiety. Didn't take too long to realize it must be some kind of dietary disruption due to cutting some big mineral sources out of my diet. And, while leafy greens like spinach, as well as nuts like almonds and cashews, are great sources of either calcium, magnesium, or both, getting 100% RDA of cal and mag from nuts and leafy greens would be both time consuming and expensive. So, while I do eat nuts and veggies daily, I also take one of these tablets (broken in half and taken at lunch and dinner), which gets me 500mg of calcium and 250mg of magnesium, which is a good start, and I get the rest through food. For me, at least, the RDAs for both minerals are pretty spot-on. If I come in significantly under the RDA on either of them for a few days, I FEEL it. Muscle tension, jitteriness, and fatigue all creep back before long. Why 4 stars though? Calcium carbonate and magnesium oxide. Amino acid chelates are generally regarded as superior, but these are a good price, and they've helped more than a little, so I'm certainly going to finish the bottle.
