Therefore, it's worth noting that the PS2 game Dark Alliance, while related, is not the same as the games in this compilation. The Baldur's Gate PC games are slower-paced and require more tactics, it's not hack 'n' slash. When playing alone you can lead a party of up to six characters, though all but the protagonist are NPCs (you can get around that in the original if you wanted to create the whole party). Many people are stating this has online multiplayer, and it might, but the information on the publisher's website only mentions multiplayer for Baldur's Gate II. Not sure if that's an oversight or if the developer Beamdog was unable to make it work in the first game for consoles. The digital stores for Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch all say single-player but other retailers mention multiplayer in the features so I find it all rather unclear. Being a compilation it is possible some information only applies to one of the games and at this point the only way to know for certain is for someone who has played it to respond (I believe all responses up to now are people assuming it has the same online multiplayer the originals have). Anyway, if you're expected an enhanced version of Dark Alliance (from Snowblind Studios) you'll be disappointed as this is not that, it's the computer games originally developed by BioWare. **Q: Are baldurs gate & baldurs gate 2 turn based or real time?** A: This is actually a complicated question. The accepted term is RTWP -- real time with pause. Simply put, the combat is in real time, but can be paused at any point so the player can issue commands to each character. There are "turns," but each character and npc is on their own personal timer, and actions happen concurrently -- i.e. you may be attacking an enemy at the same time they're attacking you. For all intents and purposes, it is real time. Autopause settings also allow a further degree of control over every second of combat, allowing you to pause after each character's respective turn is over (this can get tedious). **Q: Is there any extra dlc beyond just the ee?** A: I have not read anything to indicate new additional or exclusive console only DLC. The currently advertised content is the standard Enhanced Edition DLCs also currently available on the PC versions: Baldur's Gate 1 BG1 Tales of the Sword Coast Expansion BG1 Black Pits (standalone game mode) Siege of Dragonspear (in between campaign) BG2 Shadows of Ahm BG2 Throne of Bhaal Expansion BG2 Black Pits 2 and a couple of Beamdog portrait packs **Q: How are the controls for the ps4 controller? Would you say this game is better played on pc?** A: I just got it last night and I’m a long time veteran of BG2 .... I’m only at the part of BG2 where you release Minsc and Jaheira. There is an adjustment. It took me 10 minutes to figure out how to reorder the party. You have to figure it out by yourself as there is no manual. There is a new class and several new subkits under the classes. So it will add some new twists to old BG players like myself.
