I'm a DIYer who is otherwise unlikely to use this more than once or twice per year, so I couldn't justify paying for a branded model. I'm very surprised at how good this is for the price. It has a tripod mount and will self level itself provided it is set up within tolerance. The power light turns red if it isn't in a position to self level so its a quick and easy reference. Shines a green vertical and horizontal line, which I found perfectly visible during daylight. It also has a decent projection width. I'm not sure on the limit, but placed just inside the doorway it easily covered a whole 4m x 3m room. I checked it with a 1m spirit level and both lines were perfectly level. It feels robust enough and surprisingly rugged so a great choice for any DIYer's toolbox. My concrete floor is now perfectly level due to the height markers this helped me drill.
