The included diffusion "sock" helps take a little harshness out of the raw LEDs but can also hold a gel in place (if you're smart enough to cut a 9" diameter piece of straw or 1/4 CTO & have it in your kit...) if you want a little warmer look w/out fussing with your white balance. Oh, and it can also run on a battery pack?
