I hated it at first, as I was using a 0.35mm pick for my Ukulele, but know I needed to replace it as the plastic pick against the plastic strings was too loud. Once I got the pick, I regret my decision immediately. I was saying "Damn, this is a thicc boi...." but I wanted to make sure I gave it, its best chance. So what I did, was I bent the pick back and forth, loosened it up really good, played on my Ukulele for about an hour after doing that, and now the thing feels so good. The sound IS amazing as well. It's clear, but muffled, and sounds like you are playing with your fingers/thumb instead of a pick. If you play Uke with a guitar pick, get this, and just give it a shot, you wont regret it. They sound great for finger picking (see my instructions below for making a thumb pick with these), but as with any felt pick, they are not great for strumming patterns. The D'Addario felt picks are firmer and thinner than most felt picks, creating a bright and projecting sound. Out of the box, there can be some variance in brightness between the two sides of the pick and also from pick to pick. This difference in brightness between the two sides is attributed to the slope of the cut at the tip, which can be filed with sandpaper to dial in the sound. I also like to bend these back and forth to soften them up a bit. Some might see the inconsistency in tone between picks/sides as a negative, but I think it's actually cool as it allows you to find just the right sound for your ukulele. I recommend buying several so you can experiment. Another advantage of the thinner pick size is that it is easy to make a custom felt thumb pick using these.
