**Q: Does this have fungus?**
A: I came here only for the comments haha!
I thought fungus was a feature I never knew that exist after using rice cookers for over 30 years! 😆 the only thing you need to be worried about these type of pots with coating (nonstick) is CANCER, not FUNGUS

**Q: No matter what i do (trying different amounts of water) i end up with a sticky mess.  i live in colorado, could that be the problem?**
A: Sticky mess? You must rinse the dry rice in water, until the water is clear. This removes the starchy powder which causes your cooked rice problem. —Buy the correct type of rice for your needs. Be aware of the labels on the packaging. Medium grain rice is ‘sticky rice’ like in sushi. Long grain rice is the soft fluffy kind.

**Q: dimensions says 16"  is that right? That seems big for the picture**
A: The insert measures 6" across by 2 1/2 deep,  Total dimensions of the cooker is 8 1/2 tall by 5 1/2 across.  This is a mini rice cooker enough for 2 cups of rice for two.  I like it because I do not have any left over rice.

**Q: Can it cook brown rice?**
A: Maybe.  Since the ratio of brown rice to water is about 1 cup rice: 2 cup water the volume of pot is maxed out prior to cooking.  Water and brown rice is full to the top.  If you cook more than 1 cup brown rice you should get a larger capacity cooker.  The measuring cup supplied with the cooker is 6 ounces full, rather than standard US 8 ounce cup of measurement.

Although this is labeled as a rice cooker and works fabulously as such (1.5 cups of rice makes enough for 3), I've also used it like a mini crockpot and cooked full meals for two. For example:- Buy a sushi making kit and together, you have an easy, affordable Family Sushi Night.- Add pre-cooked chicken to a cup of rice, add onion, garlic, and chicken bouillon to taste, and you have a quick chicken and rice dinner.- Make a small batch of bone broth by starting in cook mode and letting it stay in warm mode 12-24 hours (overnight to a day). Just make sure to check the water level and scoop off fat/foam as needed.This gadget is great for anyone who struggles with ADD, someone who is so busy they sometimes forget they need to cook or are cooking, parents who want to teach kids self-sufficiency, college students who want to make healthier food, older or injured individuals with limited mobility, and anyone who just wants good, fresh food without a lot of effort.It's so easy to use: there's only one button and once the food is done, it automatically switches to warm mode. There is no open flame so there's a lot less chance of disaster.You can also make soups, spaghetti, ramen, rehydrate dehydrated meals, and more at home and on the go using a portable power station in this little 200 watt rice cooker.

I got this for my daughter who loves rice. She opened them both up and started using them right away. She wasn't too sure about the egg cooker, but has made soft boiled eggs for herself to put on top of her rice and made hard boiled eggs for me and her brother to make egg salad sandwiches. It's only been a week and we have used both almost daily. At least until we ran out of eggs. Plus they are both small and convenient for small spaces. I would highly recommend, especially for college student, small living spaces, and people who love rice and eggs.
