Review: Great to Stabilize a Broken Foot - Bought this to replace the size small one ordered by orthopedic surgeon for broken foot. First one worked great - sturdy, strongly held velcro strips, etc. Had to put an insole on footbed that is totally flat, not giving & super uncomfortable - certainly by design to allow for customization around area of foot injury. Was able to wear original on long Hawaii trip w/lots of walking & minimal discomfort. The longer worn, however, this original one began to stretch out. Am a size 8.5 M womens shoe & this one always seemed too short. As materials stretched out w/wear, foot & toes pushed out of open toe area. SO ... bought this replacement in the next size up, Medium. Different logo than original one so don't know if it's the authentic brand. Anyway, it's perfect! Large toe sits back from edge of boot about 1/4" so plenty protection for toes and not so large that it bumps into things. Again, need to put a comfortable insole on footbed but it will be fine for this next month. Stabilizes foot bone alignment such that easy to walk, drive, etc. Would definitely recommend sizing up if your shoe size is a bit in-between, such as 8.5. Surprised how cost effective it is to replace the same? similar? orthopedic appliance provided through physician's office. Review: ADJUSTABLE TO FIT CAST, TRUE TO SIZE - My cast covers my toe so cast fits at the edge of shoe. Medium size accurately fits my 8.5-9 women’s size with a cast (I found sizes on the product’s website, not on desertcart site). The velcro straps are removable to accommodate the width of the cast. The 2 straps around the ankle area aren’t removable but are long enough to go around. I’ve read reviews that report no stability for ankle when worn but this product is a Cast boot so should be used when in a cast. I am allowed to bear weight so this is good to bear weight for standing and pivoting for transfers, small steps while using a walker or crutch with good non-slip bottom. This cast shoe is much easier to velcro and put on than the very light postop surgical shoe with 2 flimsy straps that have to be looped in (hard to loop in without help; not impossible, but hard).
