It's also pretty loud if you want it to be, but great as a practice amp as well. Did I mention that some of the sounds are truly spectacular? Especially the JCM800 sounds when combined with a Les Paul. I'd easily pay double what I did for this, just don't let Marshall know that ;) I've owned several amps over the years, including a JCM800 half-stack, a Blues Deluxe, an AC15, a orIginal VOX Valvetronix modeling amp, and more recently a Fender Champ XD as a practice/recording amp. Would this be good for gigs?** A: I would not think orange micro is a good application. You would want to mic the amp or use headphone jack for larger gigs. The amp has plenty of volume for small events **Q: Is this a solid state amp?** A: It is solid state. It is great at emulating tube amp sounds and makes a great practice amp! **Q: How does the usb recording interface work? is it easy to control output level? (my super champ x2 only allowed you to control "usb gain" on laptop!)** A: It works, but at least on a Mac, it's somewhat flakey. Once connected, ouput level can be controlled from the unit -- although not via the Bluetooth app. In fact, I haven't been able to use the app simultaneously with USB, hopefully this will be addressed in future firmware upgrades. The Apogee Jam remains my go to interface into Logic Pro. **Q: Being that this is a modeling amp, can you get overdriven or saturated tones at extremely low volumes?** A: Yes. Marshall knocked it out of the park on this one! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great amp *by U***E on March 26, 2019* My 1st "real" amp was a Marshall JCM 900 Model 2100 100 watt head and 1960 4X12 cab I got new back in 1992. I played that amp for years and it was great. But I also wanted something smaller to use in a bedroom/smaller area. By this time I had another all tube amp- a 125 watt Bugera 2x12 combo, and while it was also a good amp it was just way too loud for bedroom use. So I decided on this Marshall CODE. At 25 watts it's still plenty loud enough and for anyone with any experience you can get any sound you want out of it. Plenty of effects to choose from, presets are easy to tweak or make your own from scratch.
