Die Haltbarkeit der Schwämme ist nicht bei allen Schwämmen gleich: Die kleinen Schwämmchen, insbesondere jenen, die auf die Plastikhalterungen aufgezogen werden, halten nicht wirklich lange. Die sind nach wenigen Einsätzen durch und müssen dann entsorgt werden. Die großen Schwämme sind deutlich haltbarer, werden aber auch weniger eingesetzt, weil sich der größere Teil der Zeichenarbeit im teuflischen Detail abspielt.
