Quite solid in construction and strong velcro. The fastening lock bar holds the belt tightly. One down side is the sizing is small. I have a 29" waist and ordered the small. There is not a lot of room for adjustment and only 2" of the velcro can be used. The fastening 'buckle' stops it from undoing, so it's OK.
