This compression system is for people with very fragile skin, due to diabetes or cellulitis, with edema issues. My husband has a battery operated compression sleeve but I think the bandages do a better job in controlling the swelling. The bottom layer protects the skin from further damage while the other layers provide compression and keep everything in place. Profore offers other systems but you will have to talk to them and someone trained in application would have to show you how to use.
