Use Wonder Tape. Its made to lightly tack down fabric for machine sewing without gumming up the needle. It then dissolves in the wash. You have to be absolutely sure you have the two pieces perfectly lined up because you cannot move anything once the surfaces have touched! **Q: If I sprayed this on a ping pong paddle will it restore the tackyness to the old rubber so I can again add a bit of English to my serves?** A: Rubber can be cleaned using a solvent and / or etched. Contact 3M or Ellsworth Adhesives and use the applicable adhesive designed to bond rubber to wood. Check with Ellsworth as, they've got everything. Used it to Attach paper stencils cut on a MARSH stencil cutting machine a couple light passes left a sticky coating similar to a “post it note” or painters masking tape, made for a clean stencil job with no bleeding and easy to remove with little to no residue, any residue could easily be wiped away with warm soapy water. Wait 60 seconds after applying spray tack to stencil before placing stencil onto work piece.
