We have used this product several times. We are always pleased with the results. Prep, prep and prep. And when you think you’ve prepped enough. Do one more round. We use abrasive scour pads, CLR, and a bleach based bath cleaner. Make sure it’s super clean and then rinse clean with warm water. Then completely dry with lint free cloths. Make sure you ventilate as much as possible. We wear a respirator, chemical gloves and splash goggles. The chemicals to clean, as well as the AquaFinish have extreme odor. I used the Rust-Oleum paint on my first attempt and while much cheaper AquaFinish definitely seems to be the superior product. While I learned several lessons from my first attempt(such as sanding more thoroughly and never using bath mats with suction cups) I believe this paint seems more likely to last for years versus the months of my original Rust-Oleum. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money as the labor for this project is not something you want to have to repeat again if you can help it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Good product. Just make sure you prep and coat properly *by T***N on Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2020* Very white and shiny clean looking surface on the old tub. I recommend using a new roller for every coat. Don't use foam rollers as they can be torn easily from the stickiness of the product. Use a short nap non-foam roller. Apply several thin coats (there should be enough for 3 coats at least on a tub-only refinish. Let it dry for 40 minutes between coats. A respirator is a must. Not just a dust mask, but a respirator. Good ventilation is a must. Adequate surface prep is vital. We cleaned the tub 2 times with tub cleaner, 2 times with Ajax, and sanded it to scuff up the surface.
