Will phantom adversely affect this mic?** A: The phantom power is necessary to drive the preamp in your condenser. Your Beta 57 has no preamp, so there is no effect... and no harm. Being able to turn the phantom power off, with the switch, allows you to plug in your condenser without getting that loud pop from your speakers.
