It protects it from scratches (but obviously not made for rough handling). I enjoy being able to carry my iPhone and still be able to see its beauty. I was hoping for a slightly harder plastic, my fault for not researching a bit more. On a positive note, it fits really well around the phone and isn't too bulky. It really smooths down the edges and slides nicely into my pocket! Yes, I have a phone that still fits into my front pocket and love it. ### ⭐⭐⭐ I like the case *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2016* I like the case. I was looking for a temporary case until I get a new phone since my 3 year old Otter Box finally cracked and broke. I expected it to be a hard plastic, but it is more like a mix between a soft shell case and a hard plastic case. (Which isn't a bad thing) The "hybrid" allows the case to be put on and taken off without fear of cracking or breaking the case. The biggest downside that I have with this case is that my amazon basics charging cable was unable to fit through the charging hole provided. I had to take an Exacto knife and trim off some of the top and some of the bottom so I could charge my phone without taking it out of the case.
