But that's the easy part. DON'T PLUG IT INTO A COMPUTER.I stayed up super late the first night trying to figure this out because I had read that you could fax using the Magic Jack Plus 2014. I wanted to make sure I was doing everything right and made the mistake of connecting it to my computer to try and fax. I could make calls but the call quality was horrible. I was thinking that by connecting it to my computer I could see any needed information of change setting easily to allow faxes. THAT WAS A MISTAKE.Sure you want to connect it to your computer to register it and change your phone number to a local one but that's all you'll really do. After you've done that just unplug it and connect the provided Ethernet cord directly to your modem or router. Take the USB cord that comes with the unit and plug it into the provided power adapter plug. That just plugs into the wall to give the Magic Jack Plus 2014 power. The Ethernet cord plugged into the router gives it the network connection to give you a dial tone. Then simply connect the phone line from the Magic Jack Plus 2014 to your fax machine. You don't need a computer!The call quality is good and my faxes get sent through just fine. I bought the Brother FAX-575 for less than $40 even though it says that it doesn't support VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol - it's what the technology that the Magic Jack Plus 2014 us based on).
