Online advice said this is a common failure item with LG microwaves. For the low price, it's worth taking a chance. Note that this is a "high voltage diode" and testing with a hand-held multimeter won't give useable results. I didn't test it but noticed that there was some white residue on mine that looked out of place (see pic). I went ahead and shorted the capacitor with 2 screwdrivers so I wouldn't get shocked and did the install in about 30 minutes (including microwave front panel disassembly and reassembly).
