This is a tad less powerful than full-strength oven cleaner therefore less abrasive. It is super powerful on old grease. I used it to clean up a 15 year old Weber grill and did not even have to wait much but a couple of m minutes before you see old brown/yellow/black grease disintegrate right before your eyes.
