I used it more as a an "educational" alarm so I set it at the lowest time setting so it could sound the moment they walked away and if they left the door open they would have to go back and close it, and so far it has worked.What I did was install it inside a gang box and wire it to a 12v power supply I had from an old router, in one of the pictures I show the wires of the power supply, the ones that have white marks will usually always be the positive wire and the negative wire usually has no marks on it.What I did to make the alarm sound louder was to take the QC "Quality Control" sticker around the little speaker and covered the small hole on the top of the speaker, see pictures, and it did a huge difference. I also found that taking the time and adjusting the speed and tone was crucial to making it sound the loudest. I also drilled some not so perfect holes in the front of the gang box cover so the sound could be heard better. Finally I macgyvered it onto our walk in cooler door and the alarm worked great.I will update my review if I run into any premature problems ### ⭐⭐ Troubles getting it to work. *by J***W on September 8, 2020* Unfortunately I Purchased this alarm a little over 2 years ago and just getting it installed on refrigerator door. It took quite a bit of time trying to make it work. The delay timer eventually started working after multiple attempts of rebooting etc. I unplugged the jumper wire to bypass timer. That worked!! Amazing! But I wanted a delay😡After several more minutes, and jumper reconnected, fortunately the delay timer started working. But would only work on the lowest alarm Delay setting at 25 seconds or so. I gave up! 25 seconds is better than nothing. Don't know if it's worth my time to get ahold of the company/sender to get a replacement. Bummer.  ### ⭐ It worked fine for two days *by R***R on September 2, 2015* It worked fine for two days. Now it beeps as soon as you open the door. Wife is not happy.
