## Questions & Answers

**Q: what weight person can use this surfboard**
A: According to islesurfboards.com weight chart, about 145-175 is recommended. The most i weighed in on it was at 175. It is possible to surf but really tricky. I since then had to drop some lbs.good board for$

**Q: Does this board also come with fins and leash or will that need to be purchased separately?**
A: Mine did come with everything you need. Fins and leash.

**Q: Does this board come with the tri fins and leash?**
A: Yes , good deal for the price

**Q: Has anyone used this board for river surfing? I am landlocked in CO and boogie board the rivers, but have been looking for a decent board to step up.**
A: Last month, Jan 2016, after searching the web I discovered that my community, a couple of years ago, added a white water park to one of the existing parks along the river. I also learned that it has a standing wave suitable for river surfing and there is an underground surfing community in my area. After doing research on the web and trying to figure out what would be the best surfboard to use to river surf I started looking for a cheep surfboard fulfilling certain criteria;#1. An inexpensive soft top foamy, because I didn't know If I would like surfing/river surfing and if I would stick to it, the hazards of river surfing, banging it on rocks, pearling and diving it into the river bed, scraping the fins on rocks, indicated don't buy anything your afraid to ding up or destroy.#2. Does it have enough volume to float me. I weigh 167 lbs.#3. What size is the standing wave it will be used on, 1 to 3 feet.I reduced my choices down to a foamy "fish" of adequate length/ volume, or an 8' long board.I need to disclose that I have never "surfed" before Feb 2016, because I am also land locked, so I am no expert on "surfing" or "river surfing" by any means. I am a windsurfer and have been for over 25 years, because we have several lakes that are excellent for windsurfing, but I never saw a reason to learn to surf. I chose the CBC Fish 6'2 because I believed it would have enough volume to support my weight, the size of the standing wave we have, and I believed, wrongly, because I windsurf and land sail on a mountain board, that I would progress quickly and get board with a long board quickly. Boy was I wrong . The CBC Fish 6'2 does have enough volume to float my 167 lbs. I can get into the wave and ride the board on my belly and I can stay in the wave as long as I don't screw up. I am kind of able to get up on my knees to a point before I fall over so I know it is supporting my entire weight and will stay on the wave, but it becomes too unstable for me very quickly.I'm already hooked just belling riding the board on the river wave.I have met six other river surfers in my area so far who are extremely kind and helpful, and I asked one of them who is very good to try my board so I could see if it would actually work in our wave. He got in the wave the first try, was up and standing on it, and rode it for a couple of minutes. He said it felt very loose like he was going to fall off at any time the entire time he was riding it, but it was his first time riding it. He does appear to be about 20lbs lighter than myself.I have no doubt that I will be able to ride the 6'2 fish on our wave someday, it's my goal to be able to ride that board just like I have already seen it being ridden. It turns out most of the guys are riding an 8' foamie you can get from a certain membership wholesale warehouse that sells that certain surfboard exclusively, that the surfing community ridicules and despises, but the guys here love that board for river surfing, and it's the board they recommend I get for learning on. I just ordered one of those warehouse boards.nPerhaps you should try and get in touch with some of the river surfers in your community and find out what they started on and recommend for your local waves. I would think that every standing wave is different and what works in the waves available to me and works for me might not work on the waves you have available of work for you. The guys in your community will probably help you get started and let you try their boards. The guys in my community are very nice, kind, and helpful, and have been helping me.I have no doubt I will be riding my 6'2 fish once I have the skills. But it is definitely not for beginners like myself to learn to surf on, I know that now.I hope this helps and I didn't add more confusion.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What are great board for the cost
*by V***E on August 26, 2016*

What are great board for the cost. It's durable and super light too. I like the ankle strap system that it came with better than what comes standard with other soft boards. The ankle strap has a nylon adapter that is sandwiched down when screwing down the rear fin. It has a nice tri fin set up and also has a nice design and graphics. It's been in the water a few times already and has performed great and held up under some rough conditions as expected.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good cheap board, slows down very quickly. Not much glide
*by L***. on October 5, 2016*

Good versatile cheap board to knock around, the board does not glide super easily due to the glue on the bottom holding things together and kinda grinds to a stop. You need a bigger wave than on a comparable hard board to get it moving well. But good for the money and fine to keep in the car for spontaneous surf sessions.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect kids surfboard for beginners
*by J***N on June 24, 2019*

The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my 7 year old daughter and it’s the perfect size! She weighs about 70 lbs and is 4.5ft tall. She can nearly carry it herself and it’s perfect enough for me to tuck under one arm and carry for a long walk. Good board for value so far!
