Let me tell you I wish I had bought it sooner. Features like content filters and ssid scheduling appeased my wife’s desire to keep our kids off the internet during certain hours. The only real complaint I had was rectified in the most recent firmware. No longer do you need to do hacky cli level commands to make something like express vpn work. Now you just add the config in the UI and boom your whole network gets the benefits of vpn. Since I have a number of other ubiquiti ap’s I don’t broadcast my main ssids from the router but do broadcast the guest Wi-Fi one. All my kid’s friends are like wow your Wi-Fi is super easy to get on and fast. I wish our house was like that. It then becomes more expensive buying it from them directly. **Q: why are people complaining about this product even though they bought it somewhere else?** A: Because they are reviewing the same exact product and there aren't many reviews yet. This has been on sale for almost a year on Ubiquiti's site. **Q: Can you use aftermarket range extenders with this router ? (Netgear, tp link, etc)** A: I sure wouldn’t. Those are mostly junk. I would buy a nice Unifi access point and wire it with CAT6 POE. give yourself not just a little better coverage, but awesome coverage. I put 3 access points in the house. The UDM Dream Machine has multiple ports on the b I for doing this. 400MBPS throughout our whole house including the garage. 6000sqft. Most of those wifi extenders don’t even go 30ft and the signal drops fast. **Q: can you add another standalone access point to this?** A: You can add any reasonable number of APs to this. I have 2 UAP-NANOHD-US APs on the same network.
