They used to be so brittle bending, breaking and peeling often. So I am very pleased. I have used it for a top coat, which I'd recommend. I've also used it as a base coat, though I wouldn't recommend this as I found it caused the nail polish to chip off and peel away, and I was wearing OPI nail varnish, so it was this. But when I used it onto of my OPI is made all the difference. Hope this helps. It was part of the Fab, Fit, Fun seasonal box . All of their products must pass a rigid test of being natural. Hope this helps. Also looked at the ingredients list. This product has helped my nail recover. I do need to totally remove it & apply fresh coats once a week. **Q: Should I use nail polish remover to take this off at some point? I didn’t realize it was a polish. It says use twice a week.** A: Yes you should. I’m sure everybody is different. I work on a computer all day so my nails tend to start looking a little rough after about a week.
